8 Healthy Recipe Roundup + Questions for Living Your Best Life

Day 2 of the new year has now come and gone, did you make a resolution or maybe a goal for yourself?  How's it going so far?

One of my resolutions is to start meal planning better.  Yes even I'm guilty of wandering the grocery store aisles impulsively buying random things...oops.  Hey I really needed that...bag of Chex Mix...Thai Curry something...slice of cake....  Three bunches of cilantro have wilted away in my fridge because I can't ever get around to making whatever it was I was going to make.  Dang.

No more!  I've resolved to take the time to pick out 3 meals (starting small = attainable) buy the ingredients and make them that week.  It does mean taking time to find recipes before hand...not just going on my random light-bulb foodie moments.  But it's worth it, no more wasting good ingredients.

Speaking of resolutions...here are my top healthy recipes for all of us who are resolving to eat better, move more, etc.  (or maybe just for your meal planning pleasure :) )

7. Portabella French Dip

On a side note...today I read the most interesting article from Tiny Buddha about powerful questions to ask yourself when facing growth, change, decisions, and just general challenging life stuff.

You know when you sit down with a friend to talk out a problem or idea, it's the questions you need to ask yourself to help get some clarity.

Here were some good ones...

What risk would you take if you knew you could not fail?

What are you avoiding?

What are you most grateful for?

What permission do you need/want to move forward?

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

What are the top five things you cherish in your life?

I thought that was perfect for this new year, so ask yourself these questions, you just might be surprised by the answers!

  3. I seem to have the opposite problem.... I tend to print out recipe after recipe, resulting in stacks of papers strewn about my house, and my email inbox is full of things I want to try to make, but when it comes down to actually making a dish, I either get the foodie lightbulb "OH I MUST MAKE THIS NOW" or the "Eh, I'm tired. Cereal it is." I think 3 a week is a perfectly attainable goal! And I love those questions... they are completely pertinent to my life right now :) Happy New Year!
