4 Pineapple-Ginger Green Smoothie

Spring is here!  Today was a gorgeous, sunny day and this Smoothie was a perfect way to start off.  You are guaranteed a good day after this.  I promise.

I've been seeing smoothie recipes all over the internets and decided I needed to try this out for myself.  It really was so fast and easy.  I just used whatever I had sitting around.  Consider it Spring Cleaning for your body, it will thank you later.  (And that sounds kind of gross...didn't mean it that way!)

You don't taste the spinach at all, just the sweet, tropical pineapple.  The ginger fades to the back and just gives you a little heat.  But it is SO SO good for you.  Why?  Let's break it down.

The yogurt has 14 grams of protein, and is a good source of Calcium.  Don't forget the healthy bacteria!

The Spinach, especially consumed raw like this, has a ton of Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin A, and other essential nutrients.

The Pineapple is rich in Vitamin C and Manganese.  It's a great source of Fiber too.  (For more info click here)

Ginger has all kinds of anti-inflammatory properties, has been linked to keeping away certain types of Cancer cells, etc.  (For more info click here)

But mostly it just tastes really really good!

  2. Yeah, girl! My morning smoothie is very similar: Blueberies, Spinach, Plain Greek Yogurt, Soy Milk and Protein Powder. Sometimes I'll add chai concentrate for what is called a "Chai Bomb" in my world (Because it's THE BOMB!). I'm a huge fan of smoothies... they keep me fueled for a long time in the morning and if I make too much, I don't feel guilty drinking it all!

  3. It sounds like a weird but fun and healthy smoothie. Don't think that when I make it my family will have any but I'm definitely going to try this.

    Thanks for sharing.
