2 Garden update + Stuff

Lettuce.  Rabbit food my guy calls it.  This used to be the home to a leggy basil plant and sad bunch of parsley, but this little railing planter is now nurturing 6 Bibb lettuce plants that I bought at Lowes for $2.50!!  If we only got one salad, (which I'm sure we'll get more) it would still be better than buying a bag at the store.  I love that.

And my morning glories are still going strong.  I love that I took the tiny seedlings from my Mom's garden and drove them the 16 hours from Maryland to Florida and they've made it.

Is it weird that I'm 29 and love gardening?  Sometimes I feel awkward that I don't watch the Bachelor or things like that...and would rather tell you about some plants.  But that's just me!

Look at those beautiful oysters!  It doesn't get much fresher than that.  That was from our trip to N'awlins (New Orleans) where we had a simple but delicious lunch at Casamento's one of the 1000 Places to See Before You Die.  It's officially oyster season and I'm so ready.

I'm in love with this hand towel from Terrain.  It's so beautiful, almost too pretty to use.

We're about to head out to a local seafood festival, woop!  Yea the one I mentioned last week...woops... got the dates wrong.  No matter, we're geared up for some gulf goodness.

Whatcha up to this weekend?

  1. Oooooo have fun at the seafood festival. We're recovering from yet ANOTHER typhoon. We lots power for 5 hours this time! So ready for the season to be over! Iwakuni is lucky they don't get hit much like we do down here. I wish I had a green thumb... I definitely don't! But I've only tried to grow from seeds instead of seedlings, maybe I'd have better luck if the germination and sprouting part was done before I got my brown thumb on those poor, unsuspecting plants!

  2. It's not weird at all. Gardening is therapeutic!
