11 Fig & Honey Yogurt
She slid her tired feet out of her heels and stretched her legs out in front of her, ankles slightly crossed over one another. Releasing a deep sigh, whooshing all of her worries out in one breath, she let her body sink into the chair. She closed her eyes and felt the world slow down.
As her day began to fade away, she noticed the sweet chirps of birds calling from the woods, the air was thick and hot, but a gentle breeze blew over her skin. Without thinking, she began to run her toes in the grass, feeling the tickling blades soften the ache in her heel. Pressing her toes into the cool, soft dirt she sighed again as a smile crept on to her face and slowly she opened her eyes.
This is what figs do to me. Earthy doesn't even begin to describe it, sweet, sort of taste like plums, figs have fast become one of my favorite fruits. I played with them a bit, but decided I like them best just as they are with a cool bowl of yogurt and a extra sweet drizzle of honey.
Fig & Honey Yogurt
1 cup Vanilla Yogurt
4 Figs, washed and halved
Honey to drizzle
Enjoy!

So well written. You'd do well writing a novel about your journeys. I'm a big fan of figs, honey and yogurt...
ReplyDeleteFresh figs! I love them straight off the tree (or, more realistically, out of the basket) but this yogurt combination sounds great. Perfect for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteSimple but so perfectly delicious :D
