This is my idea of finger food.
The sweetness of the date mixed with the sharp, peppery taste of the cheese. Yum. And it goes swimmingly with a glass of wine.
It sounds so fancy...but really all you have to do is cut the cheese pieces to fit inside the dates. I love recipes like that. Just keep it simple.
Right now, life is at a point where keeping it simple as much as possible is what I need to do.
So sit back, relax, nibble on these and the extra pieces of cheese.
Or serve them up at your Superbowl party. Your friends will love them.
Recipe:
(Inspired by BrownEyedBaker)
Whole, pitted dates
Manchego Cheese, cut into small sticks
1. Cut the cheese into small sticks.
2. Stuff inside the date.
DONE!
:)
Enjoy.
Simple and elegant! Those look fabulous and would be great for a cocktail party! Manchego is my favorite cheese!
ReplyDeleteIf it has cheese, I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI've pinned these for this weekend! Although I couldn't find the fontina that the original called for, and today I purchased Farmer's Cheese. And I am wrapping in bacon. But, yours have made me so excited!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite snacks is cheese and dried cranberries (together). Combining cheese with dates sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my go-to apps--I also make it stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped with prosciutto. Mmmmmm....
